Results of the seminar on participation of Korean enterprises in construction projects in Russia hosted by ART DE LEX Law Firm and Korea International Trade Association (KITA) in Seoul

The seminar on participation of Korean companies in Russian construction projects was held in Seoul. The seminar was hosted by ART DE LEX Law Firm and Korea International Trade Association (KITA) under support of the Trade mission of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Korea. The seminar was attended by Trade Representative of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Korea Mikhail Bondarenko, representatives of KITA, Partners and Practice Heads of ART DE LEX Law Firm, Division Heads of leading construction companies in Korea as Hangbo, Samsung Construction and Trading, Hanaro Holdings, Hyundai Engineering, ELCRU DSME Construction, LOTTE, LG Construction and many others.

Mikhail Bondarenko, Trade Representative of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Korea, welcomed the guests with congratulatory remarks, and so did Oh Sang-Bong, Director of KITA Institute for International Trade.

On the course of seminar, the partners of ART DE LEX gave presentations on the following matters:

                        Trends in Russian infrastructure and civil construction market ;

                        Development of Siberia and Russian Far East, Designation of Priority Development Zones in Far East;

                        Legal regulation on capital construction in Russia;

                        Procedural regulation on investment-construction process and town-planning in Russia;

                        Infrastructure financing in Russia;

                        Usage of modern technologies in construction.

Among the aforementioned, such issues as the designation of Priority Development Zones in Far East, the application of international standard forms of contract for construction and the importation of construction equipments into Russia attracted the most attention of the seminar participants.

During the event, its participants asked a number of additional questions involving practical relevance of doing business in Russia by South Korean companies on the course of joint execution of construction contracts. The heat that the South Korean enterprises brought into the seminar shows the activeness of the topic and heightened interest of Korean business community towards perspective cooperation in joint construction projects in Russian
