In response to a question posed by Yaroslav Kulik, Senior Associate of ART DE LEX, at the Annual Competition Conference organized by the International Bar Association in Florence, relating to the criteria used by the European Commission in approving or disapproving such M&A activities, Joaquín Almunia, Vice President of the European Commission and European Commissioner for Competition, said: “Whether or not to allow Google to acquire yet another vertical search service should be decided on a case by case basis”.
