Yaroslav Kulik, ART DE LEX Head of Competition Practice, will take part in the IX International Conference “Entrepreneur and Consumer – Breaking the Ice” on 13 November 2013.

The IX International Conference “Entrepreneur and Consumer – Breaking the Ice” will take place 13 November 2013 within the framework of the program “Consumer Education and Protection Initiative” (CEPI) with the support of “Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation” (APEC) Forum and the World Federation of Direct Selling Association (WFDSA).

Issues of current importance in the area of consumer market and protection of consumers state regulation will be discussed during the Conference, as self-regulation significance in the area and issues of consumer rights legal protection.

Yaroslav Kulik, ART DE LEX Head of Competition Practice, will be speaking during the Conference with the report on “Class Actions in Protection of Consumers Rights”, which is dedicated to issues of implementing legal mechanisms in protection of rights and legal interests of group of persons in courts (class action), and also to questions on possibility of fixing damages for infringement of competition protection legislation, on creation of mechanism of allocating the money recovered from violators of antitrust legislation for damages suffered by aggrieved persons.

Representatives of legislative and executive power of the Russian Federation, Federal agency of control over consumer protection and human prosperity area, Confederation of consumer societies, Consumers Union of the Russian Federation, regional consumer protection societies, city governments, and business associations, which are implementing self-regulation programs, will also participate in the Conference.
