International Arbitration

The number of international disputes involving Russian companies and individuals is growing at a steady pace. ART DE LEX is uniquely poised to represent companies world wide, as we have for the last decade.

Our recent projects

  • Providing comprehensive representation of the interests of a large Moscow Region oil refining company in respect of a dispute with its foreign counter party in various jurisdictions, including before the international commercial arbitration court in Stockholm. The total amount of the claim was around USD 330 million.
  • Representing the interests of the Client before the International Commercial Arbitration Court at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation in respect of claims resulting from an agreement to supply automobile parts totalling around USD 9 million. As a result of the process, ART DE LEX’s Client was only required to remit payment on 20% of the claim (80% was denied). In addition, ART DE LEX mediated an amicable agreement between the two parties, under which the opposing party in the case agreed not to demand full payment from ART DE LEX’s Client. Representing interests before the arbitration courts of all instances of the Russian Federation on matters regarding the recognition and execution of foreign arbitration decisions.
  • Arranging the comprehensive representation of the Client before an ad hoc international arbitration court in London in respect of the foreign general contractor’s completing an EPC contract (construction of a turn-key factory with more than ten production lines, at fixed cost of USD 220 million). The total amount of the claim was around USD 440 million.
  • Fully representing the interests of the Client in hearings before an international sport federation in Lausanne in respect of disciplinary action taken against the trainer of one of Russia’s national teams
