Legal Times published an article written by ART DE LEX lawyers dedicated to FIDIC contracts in Russia

An article written by Evgeny Arbuzov and Ivan Korolev which examines the perspectives of implementation of FIDIC contracts in Russia and issues of its adaptation to the national legislation was published in the Korean Legal Times.

In recent years Russia started an active campaign to study the experience of FIDIC and its customization into Russian reality, which the country’s authorities designated as top-priority task for the nearest future. Nevertheless, the market is slowly shifting into using FIDIC rules, and the authors of the article highlight that for some years the various measures have been already taken to introduce such standards into Russian practice

According to Evgeny Arbuzov and Ivan Korolev, the primary obstacle to the widespread application of FIDIC standards is the inconsistency of some FIDIC provisions with Russian civil law, as well as the absence of unified position among Russian lawyers which standard rules need to be altered pursuant to Russian legislation.

In the article Evgeny and Ivan viewed the contraventions and voiced their suggestions regarding the possible way-outs.
