"Delovoy Petersburg" quoted Artur Zurabyan in a commentary titled: Turbine debt: "Power machines" are in a dispute over equipment worth tens of millions of dollars

The St. Petersburg turbine manufacturer is determined to collect the debts from its contractors. Recently "Power machines" won a dispute in the Arbitration Court of the Kemerovo Region with PJSC Southern Kuzbass SDPP (GRES) to recover 41.8 million rubles (including penalties).

In mid-January, it became known about a new lawsuit filed by "Power machines" against Inter RAO UES and Inter RAO Power Generation. The dispute follows from investment legal relations: "Power machines" and Inter RAO UES entered into a strategic partnership agreement in 2007.

Artur Zurabyan, Partner of ART DE LEX, notes:
“The reform of RAO UES and the introduction of new contracts caused a significant amount of disputes related to tariff regulation and compensation of losses arising during power transmission. Judicial practice has developed principles for regulating this kind of conflicts, and nowadays there are no such large and fierce disputes in the electric power industry as there were 8-10 years ago”.
