Dmitry Magonya, the managing partner of ART DE LEX, delivered a speech at the German-Russian Law Forum

 

On 28 October 2015, in Frankfurt am Main, the Federal Chamber of Lawyers of the Russian Federation (FCLRF) and the Federal Chamber of Lawyers of Germany (Die BRAK) organized the German-Russian Law Forum. Ekkehart Schaefer, the president of the Federal Chamber of Lawyers of Germany, together with Yuri Pilipenko, the president of the Federal Chamber of Lawyers of the Russian Federation, opened the event. Stefan Hyulskhёrster, the deputy director of the German Foundation for International Legal Cooperation (IRZ), also delivered a welcome speech.

The main purpose of the event was to exchange views about the structure of law societies and other professional associations that provide legal services. The event is of particular interest because of the forthcoming reform in the Russian Federation dealing with the legal profession and the provision of legal services.

Executives of the Federal Chamber of Lawyers of Germany (Die BRAK) and practicing lawyers, representing leading German law firms, such as Greenfort Rechtsanwälte PartGmbB, Hengeler Mueller PartGmbB, Schilling, Zutt & Anschütz AG, participated in the forum.

The president of the Federal Chamber of Lawyers of the Russian Federation, Yury Pilipenko, the first vice president of the FCLRF, Yevgeny Semenyako, the advisor of the FCLRF, Alexander Orlov, as well as representatives from the law firms ART DE LEX and YUST represented the Russian delegation.
