As "Kommersant" found out, courts also protect those debtors, whose bankruptcy cases were initiated prior to the introduction of the moratorium, and even prior to the declaration of the pandemics. In a number of cases, creditors had to wait for six or more months for consideration of their claims, just to learn that it is impossible to declare the debtor to be bankrupt. The law does not directly regulate such situations. Lawyers support the idea of helping aggrieved persons, but they warn of the possibility of debtors’ abuse.
