Artur Zurabyan’s commented in an RBC article titled “Venezuelan risks: What are the threats to Rosneft from the U.S. sanctions against PDVSA?”

Media experts are discussing the introduction of sanctions the U.S. Treasury Department announced on the night of 28-29 January against the Venezuelan company PDVSA.

Arthur Zurabyan, the head of the dispute resolution practice at ART DE LEX, expressed his opinion about the consequences of the sanctions against PDVSA.

Sanctions against PDVSA create the risk of cancelling any [Russian] investment if the self-proclaimed president of Venezuela can come to power, remarked Artur Zurabyan. There is a risk to current investors in Venezuelan oil production of being subject to primary or secondary sanctions from the U.S.
