Artur Zurabian | comments for the «Advokatskaya Gazeta»: In 2021, commercial courts considered a third as many tax disputes

Attorney, Head of Litigation and International Arbitration at ART DE LEX Artur Zurabian regretfully notices that in the previous year traditionally decreased the number of cases challenging arbitration awards and cases for acknowledgement and enforcement of foreign arbitration awards, which is an evidence of reducing role of such institutions in resolution of disputes with participation of Russian entities.

«Throughout the whole 2021, only 1001 claims were filed challenging arbitration awards and nearly 300 claims for acknowledgement and enforcement of foreign arbitration awards. For several years already, cases are not considered with participation of commercial court jurors. While early in the two-thousands it was quite an efficient mechanism, nowadays it has actually outlived its usefulness», — says Artur Zurabian.
