Europe puts up with high gas prices for another six months

The period of high gas prices in Europe is likely to drag on until the next summer. In April 2022, when the heating season ends in Europe and gas starts to be injected into underground gas storage facilities (UGS), the prices will not fall below $1,000 per 1,000 m3, says Maria Belova, Research Director at Vygon Consulting. That is how she commented on the statement of Jochen Homann, head of the Federal Network Agency of Germany, (Bundesnetzagentur, BNA) that the decision to certify the Nord Stream 2 export gas pipeline will not be made in H1 of 2022.
