The lawyers of the Antitrust and TMT (Telecommunications, Media and Technology) Practices of the law firm ART DE LEX represent the interests of the Regional Public Organization “Center for Internet Technologies” (ROCIT) in the case initiated by the FAS of Russia on April 19 regarding abuse by Google (Google LLC) of its dominant position in the provision of YouTube services. 

"This case is unprecedented both for Russia and globally: not a single antimonopoly regulator has yet analyzed the social network video hosting market (of which YouTube is synonymous to us). To prepare our statement to FAS Russia we have performed an enormous amount of work in order to analyze the operation of the markets in which media platforms operate and the terms of interaction between the owners and users of the platforms. The legal and economic tools created (sometimes from scratch) and the collected evidence base will allow our team to provide effective representation of the client in proceedings before the FAS. This case will make it possible for us to develop approaches to the formation of transparent, clear and non-discriminatory conditions for the interaction of platform owners and users", says Sergei Kazaryan, head of the Antitrust Regulation practice group of ART DE LEX.
