Ukraine complains to American court at a threat of war with Russia

Ukraine filed to the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York (USA) a request for declining Tatneft motion for summoning to appear before court representatives of 52 banks within the scope of recovering in favour of the oil company $173 million for losing a share in Kremenchugsky oil refinery, Bloomberg reports.

Summons for provision of information were served on Citigroup Inc., JPMorgan Chase & Co., Credit Suisse, Danske Bank A/S, Reserve Bank of Australia and other financial organisations. Such cases in American courts are considered not as quickly as the business community would like, being used to more or less prompt resolution of issues at CIS courts, noted attorney of International Economic Compliance of ART DE LEX Marat Samarsky. As well as Gorbunov, he believes that this claim is quite typical for trials of such kind and is a delaying tactics manifestation.
